Nicotine, valium, vicodin, marijuana, ecstacy, and alcohol

A dreadfully slow week has ended in an all out effed Friday. Full on.. knee deep in prawns. Murphy's Law kids.

The day had set up well enough tho little ones. To begin with, our heroine did not eat dinner last night. What she did though, was to forage into the busy depths of Indooroopilly shopping center with hubsand and friends in tow. That many obnoxious teenagers and blithe adults in one spot is bound to wear out the most extroverted of persons. So never mind the effect it had on our introverted heroine.
It was supposed to be a short trip. Two items : a book and a candle (hehe how Quest-y eh?) but with the addition of friends who wanted to window shop..being there was inevitably drawn out.
By the time our band of players drove home it was 8ish and they were tired little pups.

On top of which, our internet addicted heroine chose to stay up and chat online for a little while, and then by 9:30pm polished off this undernourished night with some reading. (GREAT BOOK THO!!)

The bleeping call of the 4:30 am alarm woke our groggy and delirious chicquita. By 6:30 am she was at work checking data and sipping on hazelnut flavored coffee. Brown gold. Fire in the blood. Brain shaker upper.
MMM.

Flying through the paperwork and quickly finishing her scientist duties for the day, she looked in the Dreaded Fridge to see if how many samples there were to process. Previous days had left the Dreaded Fridge quite barren but some evil overlords had chosen to send the poor heroine a tidal wave of samples and prawns to process. Drat and double drat....

Pulling out the samples from the Dreaded Fridge, our hard working woman flew into a tizzy AND a frenzy of writing up and sorting out these malicious prawns. Shortly into it.. a fellow lab worker showed up briefly to write up and move samples from one spot on the bench to another spot on the bench.. but he flew the coup early on to do more training..

OH the luck.

After writing up pages and pages and pages and pages and pages of samples, she took a short break to briefly feed on some very unhealthy food. Chicken fingers washed down with some berry flavored V . Yeah.. Jamie Oliver would be proud.

Flying back into the lab, lab coat flying , goggles askew, gloved snapped onto tense fingers.. she got stuck into the mountain of prawns. It was a never ending chore of pulling the squishy buggers apart , nasty prawn poo smeared onto gloves and fingers digging into stinky flesh to be churned up in an artificial stomach and then filtered for further looking at. Her back ached. Her eyes dulled over as she kept at her task , bent over a biohazard garbage can. Peers came and went and still she was at the damn prawns. By three o' clock she had had enough.

Calling her chauffer.. she quickly made arrangements to be rescued where upon he came as fast as fast can be to whisk her away from that seafoody fleshy hell.

Now our dear girl is at home. Freshly showered and in her pajamas... sipping on single malt scotch.
Her face is numb and a solid nights sleep is in order.
