recycling things.. cause i can.

i found this.....

going through all my stuff to pack and move.. i found this thing i started to write.. have yet to finish it. but i surprised myself.. i keep forgetting what i can do.

Inside, it had always felt simple. A gift of clarity rewarded to me from early on. My life a long deep breath. As such, I lived simply. My own little apartment, decorated so that the eye easily slid from one object to the next. The visual equivalentto a drink of ice water. My job was enough. Kept me busy enough. Was not demanding enough. My job was there in my life. However, in spite of all my simplicity, all my calmness, I felt the considerable sensation of lacking in my life. Or rather a seed of something great waiting to burst out of me. It nested itself, this seed, in the back of my brain as I sat in the cafe watching people stomp by. I felt it in my belly when I stood in teh woods letting the roar of silence deafen me.It itched my fingertips when I stuck them in the mud, memorizing the sensation. No matter what I did, I could not get the seed to germinate. So I spend my days simply. Quietly. Until one morning.

I did not wake up feeling all that greatly different. I woke up and all the answers to all of the questions buried deep inside a person were in me. I did not know what they were, but that they were mine. In the dark, I sat up and ran my hands over the warm sheets. I ran my hands over my face massaging it to motivate blood flow and awake. I ran my hands up through my bed tangled hair, using my fingers to comb out it's worst knots.

Edging over the side of my bed, I stumbled out towards my daily routine of getting ready for work. As I raised my head and focused on my form, I saw it- the seed had taken root. At first I thought it was a trick of lights, something odd with the light bulbs, a color variance. But no, the lights were fine. It was my skin. Instead of my normal olive complexion, I was now patchworked with colors. A block of mauve over my eye, mustard yellow swirled with moss green at my chin, colonial blue enveloped my belly. My left arm now lavendar ending in red fingertips. My right arma pale umber brown. All the way down to my toes, as one color left off another took over. When muscles flexed, colors undulated. I should have been horrified, crying, calling 911, calling in sick to work, something. But I was not. I knew that this was what I had been waiting for. The greatness inside me had manifested itself in my technicolor derma. Giddiness bubbled up from my toes, tickled my belly and escaped in the form of giggles from my pumpkin orange lips. Picasso's living painting!! Dancing around, I flipped on all the lights, swirling in front of mirrors. Tearing off pajamas, I reveled in my being.

not done yet with it..

Because God lives in a zero gravity environment and doesn't know the difference.

I must be insane. Somehow, I had the idea that when you go to work - you work. Clearly I have this wrong. Work is about chatting and gossip and any excuse to have an hour or two set aside for morning tea.

"What are we celebrating today?"

"Oh you know so and so? She was fired so we're having morning tea for her"

????

Lets get this show on the road.I don't want to be here all day. There are other people I want to see more than you.

SO my physio gave me the go ahead to start up running again. You know, the whole start off light thing. Woo!! I'm going to go for a few hearty walks this week and then Saturday... it's Mildly Accelerated Mobility time.

If things go well enough, I do think I'll be able to run Toowoomba.

"I was not aware I had to use that muscle"

Other than a disastrous start to the work week, wherein we lose one more coworker and there by significantly increasing the hours and workload of everyone- I had my second pilates class today.

I think I took it for underestimated how hard this would be. I was thinking light airy happy dancer moves.

NUH UH.

I have to concentrate and really focus to get myself to use the right muscles. Those damn hip flexors just wont rest. So of course this leads to a very slow progression through the exercises. I do, however feel ok about the fact that she's constantly checking to see if I'm doing the whole thingamadoo correctly. I can't even switch off the right neck muscles. I feel like I am on the verge of pulling some very hidden bum muscles.

So I'm working my way through injury through pilates, ok. And in all these maneuvers that I am learning- I'll fix my running, help deal with my tension headaches, and over all have better posture.

Why isn't everyone doing it? What about all those everyday people who arent doing anything? I don't get it. How can you do that? Nothing?? My boss just works and plays poker.
I think I'd end it all if that was my life.

Maybe I've been listening to too much rock and roll.

Life is Funny

It is. Its funny how people are. You can live in this little bubble of personal perception of the world around you and not even realize how others are taking your moving through their personal bubbles. If you aren't aware that you're upsetting someone, how can you know to be aware of that?

Something could be said, but not everyone takes that well. "Hello, I have put my entire day on hold waiting for you to show up and yet you haven't called to tell me you are running late- again".

That bugs me. At least call. At least try to understand that things aren't about you. Let me get on with my day.

I don't even want to smooth those ruffled feathers.

Why is communication so hard? Why can't people just say exactly what they mean? Why do we have to analyze every word used? I guess we have ourselves to blame. Pretty much all of literature is built on the multiple meanings of words, and being civilized means mastering double speak. Appearing to like someone and being nice when you're really being a bitch.

Now you can't speak bluntly and straightforward without upsetting someone who wants to hear the soft lie.

This weekend has been nice though. We've spent the last several weekends running around a lot. I think we both wanted to stay home and do a whole lot of not much. Saturday was mildly failed when we took off to get an x box worked on and then today our big trip was to go do a shop. Beyond that it's been relatively low key.

We'll see how things go tonight though. I might have to do damage control.

chinaski forgive me.

You know it's bad waiting for a bus when you can mistake a woman for one. It all ends up being a bit of mixed feelings. On one hand, you're relieved to be from from the job, but on the other- you dislike that waiting for the bus to show up. What you really want is to get on the bus and GO. It's always late though.

I've been keeping up with the exercises. There is a kind of fun challenge trying to switch on those muscles they want me to use. Give the hip flexor a break. I'm considering sneaking out for little light runs. I miss the feeling it gave me.

I haven't much more to say. Tomorrow night is another Friday Night Dinner with the friends. Its starting to be ritual now. I don't mind it. I think this Friday tho... I'll have a little less wine than last time.

their ideal neighborhood
their lives full of canned, mutilated laughter.
